The IT Operation Network Infrastructure team is looking for a new colleague to perform Level 2/Level3 activities related to operation and administration of Networks Infrastructure equipment and services.

As a Network Expert you will to implement and ensure development requirements met on Network Infrastructure platforms, assure the appropriate performance for Network switching/routing systems, carry out investigations and interpret diagnosis to validate the root cause, prioritize and facilitate the resolution of the incidents. You will be involved in a dynamic field that requires continuous improvement, adjustments and a proactive attitude.

You will work with different technologies & tools and interact with other teams and third party providers.

 What will you be doing:

  • Work with engineering team to implement and ensure development requirements met on new and existing platforms
  • Involvement on specific project assignments with development for Network Infrastructure domains
  • Act as the focal point for the business with external/ outsourcing partners, including contract management of out sourced activities;
  • Carry out investigations and interpret diagnosis to validate the root cause of network incidents, identifies and carries out resolution actions or escalates as required
  • Acting as active player in crisis management processes and taking leadership upon request
  • Follow up and analyze the QoS indicators related to Network Infrastructure domains targeting quality improvements and service availability
  • Level 2/Level 3 technical support related to operation and administration of Networks Infrastructure equipment and services
  • Solving within SLA quality and time range faults raised by the network management tools or other Technical entities
  • Execute acceptance testing of new Network Infrastructure platforms in line with requirements and validates new terminal integration onto the network
  • Performs “On Duty Call” activity
  • Owning, resolving and escalating to equipment/applications suppliers technical problems related to Networks Infrastructure domains in-line with technology agreed KPI targets
  • Designing and issuing the forecast for Network Infrastructure equipment spare parts
  • Suppliers evaluation
  • Produces accurate systems reports, trouble tickets and incident reports

What you know and will you be working with:

  • Excellent knowledge of Network switching/routing:

o  work experience with IP networks (switches and routers) from Cisco or similar vendor: configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance

o  work experience with firewalls: configuration and troubleshooting

o  advanced knowledge of communication between OSI levels, headers, differences between routing protocols (IS-IS, RIP, OSPF, BGP) and how these are used

  • Good knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS) - type of queries, flows description, DNS cache details, DNS queries methods, configuration and troubleshooting
  • High experience with operational configuration, troubleshooting (including advanced debug) and maintenance tasks on packet core network (Ericsson or similar vendor)
  • Good knowledge of CLI - configuration, troubleshooting for legacy/virtualized solutions
  • Work experience with load balancers (F5 or similar vendor), configuration and troubleshooting
  • Work experience with graphic tools like Cacti, Nagios, understanding the trees, able to add/remove network elements or interfaces, able to create weather maps (nice to have)
  • Nice to have knowledge related to Virtualization ecosystems (Contrail, OpenStack) - block structure of a virtualized network (compute level, hypervisor level, VNF level, VIM)
  • able to configure and troubleshoot specific switching/routing for virtualization (MX routers or similar)

Working language(s) :  Romanian and English

Education: Telecom degree or equivalent experience
